Website Inactivity Due to Traffic Quota

If your website hosted on our web hosting service unexpectedly becomes unavailable and you receive errors like 'SSL_ERROR_BAD_CERT_DOMAIN' or similar connectivity issues, one common cause is exceeding your configured traffic quota in ISPConfig.

When the traffic quota is reached, ISPConfig automatically deactivates the website to prevent further data transfer, leading to the observed unavailability.

How to Check and Adjust Your Traffic Quota:

1. Log in to your ISPConfig control panel.
2. Navigate to the 'Sites' section and select the website that is experiencing issues.
3. Look for the 'Traffic Quota' field. This field specifies the maximum amount of data (in MB or GB, depending on the unit displayed) your website can transfer within a billing cycle.
4. If you want unlimited traffic, as per our web hosting description, you should enter ' -1 ' (minus one) into this field. This setting indicates no traffic limit.
5. If you have a specific, finite quota, ensure that the value is high enough for your expected traffic. A value like '1024' would mean 1GB of traffic, after which the site would become inactive.
6. Save your changes. The website should become active again shortly, and the problem of unexpected deactivation due to traffic limits will be resolved.

Regularly monitoring your website's traffic and ensuring an appropriate quota setting is crucial for continuous availability, especially for business-critical sites.
