Managing IP Addresses for Your VPS

You can add, remove, and change the primary IP address associated with your VPS service directly from your service management panel.

1. Purchasing New IP Addresses

To add an additional IP address to your VPS:

1. Log in to your VPS4You account.
2. Ensure you have sufficient balance in your account, as purchasing new IPs requires a top-up if you don't.
3. Navigate to the 'Service' menu and click on the 'Manage' button next to your VPS service.
4. Look for the 'IP Addresses' or 'Network Settings' section.
5. Here you will find an option to purchase new IP addresses. You can typically select a random IP from an available range (e.g., 87.229.6.0/24).
6. Follow the prompts to complete the purchase.

2. Changing the Primary IP Address

To replace your current primary IP address with a newly purchased one, or to switch between existing IPs:

1. First, make sure you have the desired new IP address already purchased and assigned to your VPS service (see '1. Purchasing New IP Addresses' above).
2. Shutdown Your VPS Service: It is essential to shut down your VPS before changing the primary IP to avoid network configuration issues. You can do this from the 'Manage' page of your VPS service.
3. In the 'IP Addresses' section, you should see an option to select which IP address is designated as the 'Primary IP'. Choose your desired new IP address.
4. Start Your VPS Service: Once the new IP is set as primary, restart your VPS service.
5. Update any internal network configurations on your VPS operating system if necessary, although for most standard setups, this change will be automatically handled by the virtual network interface.

3. Deleting an IP Address

To remove an unwanted or old IP address:

1. Ensure the IP address you wish to delete is NOT currently set as the primary IP address for your VPS. If it is, you must first change the primary IP (see '2. Changing the Primary IP Address' above).
2. In the 'IP Addresses' section of your VPS management page, locate the IP address you want to remove.
3. There will be an option (e.g., a 'Delete' button or icon) next to the IP address to remove it from your service.
4. Confirm the deletion. Note that deleting an IP address is usually irreversible for that specific IP and may incur charges if it was a paid addition.
